PITTSBURGH — The NHL named Pittsburgh Penguins’ goaltender Tristan Jarry the NHL’s Second Star for the month of the December. With Jarry between the pipes during that time, the Penguins led the NHL in wins, win percentage, goal differential and allowed the fewest goals in the league.

In nine games, Jarry posted an 8-1-0 record with a 1.54 goals-against average, three shutouts and a .947 save percentage. His marks for shutouts and goals-against average were an NHL-best, while coming in second in save percentage

Jarry’s most-recent honor wasn’t his only award earned in December. He was awarded the NHL’s Second Star of the Week on Dec. 9 after posting back-to-back shutouts against the St. Louis Blues and Arizona Coyotes respectively.

The British-Columbia native is currently on a six-game win streak that started against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Dec. 12. He’s allowed no more than two goals in five of those six games.

Jarry is one win away from tying his own record of 14 games, set in the 2017-18 season.
