A strong storm will bring a wintry mix to the area Saturday, impacting travel plans across the area.
Snow will develop after 3 a.m. and continue on and off through mid-morning, mixing with rain mainly after sunrise starting from the south and tracking to the northeast.
The heaviest snow will be north of Pittsburgh where the precipitation will also stay snow longer. Untreated surfaces will likely be icy. Allow extra time to clear your car, sidewalk and driveway before heading out.
Gusty winds will also develop through the day with gusts as high as 30 mph to 35 mph. Colder temperatures will move back into the area Saturday night into Sunday, changing any leftover rain showers back to snow showers.
