PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh saw a drier than average and warmer than average summer this year.
Meteorological summer includes the months of June, July, and August for climate record-keeping purposes.

The city saw roughly 11 inches of rain and finished 0.64 inches below average. This is not bad considering much of August was dry. Numerous days of rain late in the month lead to the city finishing 2″ above average in the month of August alone.
As for the temperature, which includes the lows and highs, Pittsburgh recorded an average temperature of 73.5 degrees which finished 2.6 degrees above average.”
