Adele shares makeup-free selfie, apologizes for cancelling Phoenix show

BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND - FEBRUARY 29: Adele performs on stage at the SSE Arena Belfast on February 29, 2016 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

PHOENIX — Fans are used to seeing Adele with a full face of makeup, but earlier this week they got a glimpse of the singer without her signature cat-winged eyeliner.

The "Hello" singer shared the photos while trying to rest and recover in Phoenix after catching a cold. It seems the being on the road got the best of her, so she took to Instagram to apologize after cancelling Wednesday night's show.

"I can’t do my show tonight," she said in the video, sounding congested. "I am really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days and I’ve been pushing through it, and I did my show last night. And I loved it, but I pushed too hard. As you can hear, even if I did the show, it wouldn’t be very good. I’m really, really, really sorry if I let anyone down."

She explained that she was trying to sing and warm up for the show, but ultimately had to cancel.

"I will reschedule the show and I will come back and I will smash it," she promised fans.

Despite her sickness, fans applauded Adele's bare look and complimented her true beauty.

"Real woman!" one fan wrote. "Love it."
