Scarlett Johansson Will Play Pittsburgh Massage Parlor Boss in 'Rub & Tug'

Scarlett Johansson's newest character is a bad boss lady in 1970s Pittsburgh.

Jean Marie Gill took on the mob and ran an illicit massage parlor empire, all while physically assuming the identity of a man, stunts that rival that of Black Widow in the "Avengers."

But this time, Johansson's larger-than-life female anti-hero actually existed.

Deadline.com reports that New Regency won the auction for "Rub & Tug," a film with a $30 million budget.

The big question is: will we see the superstar in Pittsburgh for production, starting in February?

Maybe, but it's not known for sure yet.

Dark comedy-crime will be a different, possibly more challenging genre for Johansson who has been busy starring in sci-fi action films.

Namely, "Ghost in the Shell," directed by Rupert Sanders, which was met with mixed reviews. "Rotten Tomatoes" said it had great visuals, but lacked character development, straying too far from the classic source material.

All that aside, Johansson is teaming up with Sanders again; he will be directing "Rub & Tug."

In the meantime, IMDb says Johansson is filming "JoJo Rabbit" and has announced a break out "Black Widow" movie. She will also appear in the fourth "Avengers" movie, which will hit theaters May 3, according to EW.com.
