The Alzheimer's Association has been funneling research dollars and resources to caregivers in the hopes of lightening the burden, but these new findings raise new questions.
As spouses care for their partners as the disease progresses, they often begin to succumb to the increased risk themselves. Experts say families need to come up with care plans immediately after diagnosis that include time away for the non-affected members.
