Body Of Swimmer Found In Fayette County Creek

LOWER TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Rescue workers said they have found the body of a swimmer in Fayette County.

Police said Joseph Gralewski, 22, of Yukon disappeared in Falls Creek at about 3 p.m. Sunday. He was swimming with a group of friends, police said.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a call that someone had jumped off a rope swing and into the water but didn't resurface.

Rescuers had a hard time getting to the scene, which is 20 minutes off the main road. When they did, members of the dive team were not immediately able to go into the water due the strong current and high water level.

"It started out like a normal day. We were all having a blast, (expletive) just turned serious fast," said friend Duane Froberg.

"He was having a blast, an awesome time from what I hear," said friend Cody Batchko. "He didn't deserve what happened to him."

Family and friends said they're thankful for the rescue team's hard work. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
