Bridal party trades flowers for rescue puppies

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — You might be seeing more of this at weddings – a bridal party recently took pictures, not with flowers or bouquets, but with adorable puppies.

Now just old enough to drink at a wedding, Caroline Logan already has six years of photographing them under her belt. She started when she was 14, but her most recent stint was like no other for her.

"Definitely keep hearing, ‘I've never heard of this. I wish I would have thought of this,’" said Logan.

She photographed, Martha, Abigail, Dolley, Elizabeth and Louisa. They're all sisters but not bridesmaids. They're coonhound/boxer mixes, and photographed in the center with the bride is “Biggie Smalls,” a pitbull puppy.

"Their faces are irresistible,” said one woman. “It's too much. It's too much."

And the photos are apparently too cute not to share.

"It kind of took off,” Logan said. “And 10,000 likes later, and thousands and thousands of comments of people tagging each other and their best friends."

National shows and websites picked up some of the pictures, but it was the bride's idea to pick the pups. She works with two rescue organizations, and when this litter came in days before her big day, it was fate.

"The entire bridal party was able to focus on just loving on the puppies and interacting with them instead of being concerned about how do I pose, where do I stand, do I look ok?" explained Logan.

Five of the six dogs are still available for adoption, in case you've fallen in love at first sight. The puppies are named after the original five First Ladies.
