Allegheny County Health Department closes seven bars, restaurants found in violation of Covid-19 regulations

PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered seven bars and restaurants to close for a minimum of one week during the month of September due to alleged violations of Covid-19 health and safety regulations, two of which were repeat offenders from last month.

According to its latest report, the health department ordered the following facilities to close on Sept. 19, and the bars or restaurants will have one week to become compliant:

Seven, a nightclub in downtown Pittsburgh located at 130 7th St., received its second mandated closure from the health department this year for Covid-related violations. According to the health department, the facility was admitting people inside after 11 p.m. and reportedly denied inspectors entry. ACHD previously closed the nightclub in August after it found violations such as employees not wearing masks, allowing too many customers into the premises and refusing to allow health department inspectors to enter until Pittsburgh Police arrived to permit entry. Seven was permitted to reopen again on Aug. 17 until its latest closure mandate. The nightclub did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
