Del Frisco’s to go forward with plans for steakhouse at Union Trust Building

PITTSBURGH — High-end steaks will be on the menu at the Union Trust Building after all.

The Davis Cos. and the restaurant’s ownership announced that a Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse will open in September 2022, taking a more than 11,000-square-foot space for a 15-year lease in the Union Trust building, which has been restored after a $100 million investment.

It’s a recommitment of a deal originally announced in 2018 that faced major doubts in the early days of the pandemic when Del Frisco’s, then recently bought by Landry’s Inc., attempted to pull out of the deal, leading Davis to sue for breach of contract.
