Real estate record reveals Amazon closes on buying former Eastland Mall site in North Versailles

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — What’s been an open secret for months now is fully confirmed with a public record: Amazon.com is now the full deed owner of the former Eastland Mall property, a long vacant former shopping center in the eastern suburb of North Versailles.

According to a new deed transfer record registered with Allegheny County, Amazon bought the vacant retail property at 2900 Maryland Avenue in North Versailles from Realty Development Eastland Inc. for $9 million, a little more than $195,000 an acre for the more than 46-acre site.
