Dogs barely survive porcupine attack

CANADA — Three dogs outside playing in Canada found a porcupine and now one of them is lucky to be alive.

The porcupine's quills punctured all three dogs, but Mahalo took the most, with some barbs affecting her heart and lungs.

She's already had extensive surgeries in an attempt to save her life, and the veterinarian bills are over $8,000.

Nestah's injuries also required surgery, but he's recovering quite well with no permanent damage despite taking quills in the spine and cheeks.

Soljah only had a few barbs to the chin, which were removed without surgery.

A GoFundMe account has been set up by a family friend to offset the growing pile of bills.
