Elderly Man Killed In Bullskin Township Blaze

BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — An elderly man was killed in a fire at his Bullskin Township, Fayette County, home, unable to escape the flames.

Wayne Sepkovic, 83, was unable to make it out of his Kentucky Avenue home on Sunday, firefighters said.

Neighbors said Sepkovic built the house 50 years ago. He was found dead in the basement.

The only other person in the house at the time was Sepkovic's wife, Ruth, authorities said. She was able to make it out of the house without any major injuries.

A neighbor said she was alerted to the fire by a passing driver, and they did what they could to help.

"She pulled into our yard," said neighbor Marlene Miller. "She saw the smoke, and yelled, ‘The house is on fire.' We ran in and called 911."

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
