MONONGAHELA, Pa.,None — Former four-term U.S. Rep. Frank Mascara of Charleroi has died. He was 81.

Mascara died Sunday at Monongahela Valley Hospital, according to Joe Lopez of the Carl J. Spellino Funeral Home.

Elected to Congress in 1994, he lost his seat in 2003 after redistricting prompted a run against former Rep. John Murtha.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two sons, Frank of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jon, of Belle Vernon; and a daughter, Karen Talbert, of Belle Vernon.

Visitation is scheduled Thursday and Friday with services slated for Saturday at Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi.
