Snyder of Berlin is recalling its Buffalo Blue Kettle Cooked Potato Chips because a milk powder used in a spice blend ingredient may contain salmonella.
The Somerset County company said the recalled chips were sold in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, New York and Tennessee.
The recall affects 8-ounce packages with the UPC number 0 23000 43922 9 and any of the following product codes:
- FEB2117M77A
- FEB2117H44A
- FEB2117H44B
- FEB2817H77A
- MAR0717H77A
- MAR2117M77A
The company said consumers who bought the chips should throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
There have been no reported illnesses related to the chips.
According to Food Safety News, there have been at least 13 recalls of a wide variety of dozens of food products from macaroni and cheese to frozen cream puffs since Dec. 7 because of potentially contaminated powdered milk ingredients from Valley Milk Products LLC.
Snyder of Berlin did not name the supplier of the powdered milk that is used in the spice blend on the recalled chips.
