Hubcap hero dubbed 'world's most random Good Samaritan'

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — It's only a 14-inch circle of plastic. But for a man in Nevada, it brought the hope of a new start.

Greg Barlett encountered a lot of obstacles during his last move and nothing was going right.

"The highway shut down in Kentucky because a tractor trailer of chickens caught fire. Then we hit a tornado in Kansas. Third day, they sent a whole new truck out," he said.

Then as he walked out from work, he spotted a piece of paper stuck under his windshield wiper.

It was a note from a stranger: "It starts out, 'Yo Dawg, I noticed your car only had three hubcaps. I bought a new set but for some reason I saved the old ones.'"

It's a small gesture from the "the world's most random Good Samaritan."

Bartlett says it was a small gesture, but one that didn't feel small to him -- a circle of molded plastic and the kindness of a stranger becoming an omen for better days ahead.

"It's a great note. It made my day. It made my week -- it's great," he said.
