Four and a half year old Carter is waiting. Everytime a car drives by his head flips around to the road because his "buddy" is almost here. When Postman Mike arrives, Carter rushes out to meet him. He's been their mail carrier for about 9 months. Over that time, the pair have become close-- so close, that they have matching postal service uniforms.
Postman Mike and Carter walk through the neighborhood together every day, delivering mail. Carter asks lots of questions and Postman Mike keeps him safe from neighborhood dogs. They only spend a short amount of time together everyday but it's a time both of them look forward to.
"He's the end of my day and the best part of my day. Not just because it's the end... Because he's such a cute little guy," says Mike fondly.
Mike has been with the postal service for nine years and says it's the people that make his job great.
Carter and his mother are also going to tour a post office, to see the other half of his buddy's job.
