• Arrest made in August homicide in North Versailles


    NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. - Allegheny County homicide detectives arrested a man Wednesday accused of fatally shooting a woman in North Versailles.

    According to police, Susan Hammond, 24, was found shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Patricia Lane on Aug. 27.

    Investigators said it took a neighbor about six hours after the shooting to find Hammond’s body lying between two cars.

    Authorities charged Dorian Williams, 20, with homicide on Wednesday. Police said he was already in the Allegheny County Jail. He will remain there to await arraignment on the new charges.

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
