PITTSBURGH — Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher weighed in on the Steelers’ offensive struggles in the first two games. For Cowher, it’s quite simple: the Steelers offense has no identity.
“The offense does not have an identity right now. And you can’t get the running game going,” Cowher said on CBS’ NFL Today Show. “It really starts with the offensive line. They’ve got a lot of players playing different positions at this point. They have not been able to mesh together with this offense.
“I think right now, Aaron [Rodgers] does not feel comfortable back there. They’ve got to maybe simplify things, or at least open it up, and get Aaron in a position where he can feel comfortable back in that pocket.”
