Man suspected in Butler apartment shooting arrested

BUTLER, Pa. — A man is in custody in connection with a shooting that injured two people in the City of Butler on Thursday.

Butler City Police Chief Bob O’Neill says investigators used witnesses, videos and license plate readers to identify suspects inside a vehicle during the shooting at an apartment building on West North Street that left a man and a woman injured.

O’Neill says the suspected shooter, Khamrin Paige, 19, of Carnegie, was stopped by the Monroeville Police Department in the suspect vehicle.

Paige was taken to the Butler City Police Station and interviewed. Afterwards, investigators filed multiple charges against Paige, including aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal attempt and criminal conspiracy.

Paige was placed in the Butler County Prison on Saturday morning and is awaiting arraignment.

O’Neill says more arrests are forthcoming and the shooting victims are recovering well.
