Birmingham Bridge reopens after two people injured in head-on crash

PITTSBURGH — Two people were injured Saturday morning in a head-on crash on the Birmingham Bridge in South Side.

Around 4:30 a.m., police said a car and truck collided in the southbound lanes. The southbound lanes were closed for about an hour while the wreckage was cleared.

Police reopened the bridge around 6 a.m.

At this time, police have not released the condition of the victims hurt in the accident.

The crash is currently under investigation.
