Body pulled from Ohio River at Emsworth Locks and Dams identified

BEN AVON, Pa. — A body pulled from the Ohio River in Allegheny County last week has been identified.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Joel Murphy, 65, of Pittsburgh.

On Friday, emergency crews responded to the Emsworth Locks and Dams in Ben Avon around 10:23 a.m.

The Allegheny County Police Department is leading the investigation.

The cause and manner of death for Murphy have not yet been released.
