BUTLER, Pa. — To keep employees and customers safe, shoppers have not stepped through the door at Butler Farm Market in more than two weeks.
The mom and pop shop is going old school, offering takeout groceries drive-thru style.
“We have 1,200 people a week coming through the store, touching everything. This way, our employees feel comfortable doing the shopping for them," said Butler Farm Market owner Eric Shiever.

Shiever came up with the creative way quickly to keep his employees working and the community stocked up as safely as possible. One employee writes down the order, another does the shopping and there are runners who deliver to the cars.
“I think it’s great. I didn’t want to go out. Not everybody’s wearing masks so this is good for me,” said shopper Bonnie Randolph.
The whole process takes about 20 minutes. There’s no real physical interaction, but there is plenty of appreciation.
