Children, ages 6-10, accused of property damage, harassment

PITTSBURGH — Children, ages 6-10 years old, are accused of property damage and harassment in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood.

"We're talking 6 years old to 10 years old.  They're throwing rocks, almost hitting dogs and other children," said city councilwoman Darlene Harris.

Neighbors said the children bashed in a garage window and vandalized a gym.

One woman recorded cellphone video of the vandalism happening.  The video shows a kid pick up a rock and toss it through a window.

The school district was notified, and parents are being asked to walk with their children.  City and school police have also increased patrols.

Police said the children could be cited for criminal mischief, and parents would be responsible for paying the fine.
