Cranberry Township says it’s moving forward with a plan to strengthen and safeguard EMS service.
The Cranberry Township Board of Supervisors has authorized advertising a public hearing and the intention to adopt an ordinance creating a proposed Emergency Service Authority.
The action comes after more than two years of exploration and research.
Previously, the board asked township officials to seek funding options for Cranberry EMS, encouraged participation in the Southwest Butler County EMS Alliance Study and established an EMS Ad Hoc Advisory Committee.
The committee recommended creating the Emergency Services Authority and implementing a fee-based model to support the reliable delivery of local emergency response services.
The board will consider adopting the ordinance at its Dec. 10 meeting.
