Crash shuts down part of I-70 in Westmoreland County

SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A crash has shut down a part of I-70 in Westmoreland County.

The interstate is closed between Exit 49 (Smithton) and Exit 46 (Route 51 Pittsburgh/Uniontown) in South Huntingdon Township.

PennDOT said the eastbound lanes will also be closed for a short period of time for emergency crews to respond.

Westmoreland County 911 tells Channel 11 that one person was taken to a hospital from the crash.

Drivers are advised to find a different route.
