CHURCHILL, Pa. — A man was killed during a house fire in Churchill on Sunday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 70-year-old Munang Nanji.
The rest of the residents inside the home were able to escape.
According to Allegheny County 911, police, fire and EMS crews responded to the 800 block of Graham Boulevard around 12:40 p.m.

The fire reached three alarms before the flames were under control.
“We had heavy fire from the very beginning we had crews try to push in there, we’re unable to push in due to the heavy fire load in the house. We had to back back out and we had a good defensive,” said Churchill fire chief Ralph Zatlin.
Crews believe that the fire started in the back of the house, but investigators are still working to confirm the cause of the fire.
