DUNBAR, Pa. — A local park has a new purpose: honoring a 9-year-old girl a year after her tragic death.
Saturday, Dunbar Park was rededicated in memory of Renesmary Eutsey, with a new plaque being unveiled.
The mayor proclaimed Saturday as “Renesmay Ann Day” in Dunbar.
Renesmay’s body was found in the Yough River early Sept. 5, 2025. She had been reported missing two days before.
Her foster parents — Kourtney Malinda Eutsey and Sarah Ann Shipley — are charged in her death. The two caregivers face additional charges for abusing other children in their home, according to investigators.

Renesmay’s grandmother and a friend of the family have also been charged in the alleged abuse.
Investigators say another child in the home experienced abuse and neglect. He was hospitalized but survived.
