Galla is accused of taking more than $230,000 of borough taxpayer money from 2010 through 2013.
When he failed to arrive for his trial on Tuesday, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
Galla’s defense attorney, Brent McCune, told Channel 11 News Galla had been living in California.
“I am happy he is caught because I want to see him in court,” Munhall Mayor Raymond Bodnar said. “He owed the people of Munhall an explanation. You’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
McCune said Galla thought his trial began on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Bodnar said he isn’t buying the excuse.
“How could he not know the day and date when everyone was subpoenaed?” he said.
Galla is being held without bail until he appears for a hearing.
As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, McCune said he didn’t know when that would happen.
