PENNSYLVANIA — A prostitution sting at the Westin Convention Center hotel that led to five arrests last week was part of a nationwide crackdown on child sex trafficking.
There were no underage victims found in Pittsburgh, but efforts by the FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to 25 arrests and three recovered adult victims in Western Pennsylvania.

“Some of those were pimps… and others were just different charges varying from prostitution to drug charges…” said Greg Nelson, of the FBI.
In addition to the Westin, officials targeted hotels in Green Tree, Greensburg, Erie, and Wheeling, West Virginia.
Nelson said the local hotels were supportive of the initiative, and very important in the investigation.
Nationwide, officials have been able to recover 149 victims. The youngest of those victims was 12 years old.
