People and businesses impacted by significant flash flooding in late September now have access to financial assistance.

The Shapiro Administration says the U.S. Small Business Administration has made financial assistance available for individuals, families and businesses affected by severe storms and flooding between Sept. 12-20.

Low-interest SBA loans are available for people in Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Greene and Washington counties. The loans are available to homeowners, renters, private non-profit organizations and businesses who sustained physical damage from the flooding.

The SBA loans can provide up to $500,000 for homeowners to replace or repair their home and up to $100,000 for homeowners or renters to repair or replace personal property.

Businesses and most private non-profit organizations may apply for up to $2 million to cover disaster losses not fully covered by insurance.

The Shapiro Administration is also activating the Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Assistance Program for the following Washington County communities:

  • Canton Township
  • Donegal Township
  • East Washington Township
  • Independence Township
  • North Strabane Township
  • South Strabane Township
  • Union Township
  • Washington City

Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations located in the declared disaster area that have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan.

The deadline to apply for SBA loans is Dec. 22. The deadline for EIDC loans is July 23, 2027. Click here to learn more.
