Newly released information from the federal government and energy experts predict Marcellus Shale will be the most productive natural gas field in the country.
Even though drilling began in Marcellus Shale five years ago, the volume of production suggests, drilling won't stop even though lawmakers in New York are debating whether or not to allow drilling in its portion of the shale.

Jay Apt, a professor of Technology at Carnegie Mellon University, doesn't know if the amount of natural gas being produced will grow the local industry or be shipped to Canada, the Gulf Coast or even overseas where natural gas prices are much higher.
