PITTSBURGH — A fight over a cigarette at a Pittsburgh gas station ended with a man being beaten with a baseball bat.
According to the criminal complaint, a man approached David Rose, 41, of Vandergrift, and asked for a cigarette.
Police said Rose then told the man, “No, get a job,” before the two started arguing. The man then started throwing rocks, hitting Rose’s vehicle.
Rose then began chasing the man through the parking lot before allegedly hitting him with a baseball bat 20 times, according to police paperwork.
Police said surveillance video showed Rose with a baseball bat, but it didn’t show the incident.
According to the criminal complaint, the man suffered a broken calf bone, and doctors said his injuries were consistent with getting hit with a blunt object.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Rose on several charges, including aggravated assault. He is not yet in custody.
