PITTSBURGH — A woman was stabbed multiple times in Pittsburgh’s Esplen neighborhood.
A Pittsburgh Public Information Officer said police and medics were called to the Sunoco gas station on the 300 block of Stanhope Street at 4:15 p.m. for reports of a person with a stab wound.
A woman with stab wounds on her left shoulder, arm and side of her face was found there. She was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
Although the victim was found at the gas station, police say the actual stabbing took place in the 300 block of Tabor Street.
Witnesses there told officers the victim was in an altercation with another woman before the stabbing took place.
Police say a suspect is in custody and charges are expected to be filed. That suspect’s identity has not been released at this time.
