WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — A former firefighter is facing charges in connection with a crash in February that killed a Rostraver EMS supervisor.
More than six months ago, Matt Poston crashed his truck into a telephone pole on Lowber Road in Sewickley Township. Police said his passenger, Gary Moore Jr., still had a pulse at the time of the accident, but Poston “freaked out” and took off, leaving the accident scene and returning to the bar he and Moore were minutes before the crash.

Moore was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Poston was charged Monday with vehicular homicide and DUI.
Police said he didn't turn himself in until the next day, prolonging the investigation.
Moore was a volunteer firefighter with Yukon and supervisor for Rostraver Ambulance Service for nearly 17 years.
"He was a dedicated person, that's all I can say,” Gary Moore Sr. told Channel 11 News in February.
When reached Monday, the Yukon Fire Company declined to comment on behalf of Moore’s family, because it’s a difficult time for them.
Poston was also a volunteer firefighter at the fire department.
He was released from jail Monday on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
