Report: Amazon expected to be the tenant of million-square-foot development in New Stanton

PITTSBURGH — A development tag team that’s already worked together along the Parkway West is spurring the demand for a new million-square-foot distribution center in the east suburbs, according to a new industrial real estate report.

According to Newmark’s new industrial report for the region for the fourth quarter of 2021, Amazon is expected to be the tenant in the new distribution facility that was presented to New Stanton Borough last year.

It’s still a fully speculative project that Newmark says Amazon is “considering” for a site near the intersection of Interstate 70 and Interstate 76, a section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike that’s an active market for distribution facilities.
