CRANBERRY, Pa. — A hot-air balloon surprised a group of local kids Monday morning and made a surprise landing on an elementary school’s property.
Officials said the First National Balloon came down onto the Haines Elementary School ballfield around 9 a.m.
Teachers at the Seneca Valley School District school said the pilot, Mark Neely, shouted down to them to see if he could land the balloon and they allowed it.
“We love the reaction from the people as we pass over their houses and schools as they’re screaming and yelling,” Neely said.
Neely said the balloon will be going up all summer and flying above neighborhoods across the region.
