PITTSBURGH — One of Pittsburgh’s biggest private equity firms has fresh powder to deploy as strong investor support propelled its third fund at an accelerated pace.

Continuim took four and a half weeks to raise its newest fund, breezing past the original target of $375 million to wind up oversubscribed at $548 million.

Continuim Equity Partners confirmed on August 5 that it had closed on its third and largest fund to date, just short of two years since completing its second fund of $247 million.

“Thirty-two days in market from the first closing to the final close was our fastest fundraise by a wide margin,” George Pilafas, Continuim managing partner and co-founder, said. “Our second fund was nine months in market, which we thought was fast at the time and are humbled by the investor reception in our successive raises.”
