Investigation underway after shots were fired at people in Clairton

CLAIRTON, Pa. — An investigation is ongoing after shots were fired at people in Clairton on Friday.

Police were called to the area of Mitchell Avenue at 2:05 p.m. for reports of shots fired. No one was hit.

Investigators said “individuals who were walking” in the area of Halcomb Avenue near Mitchell Avenue and Oak Alley were the intended targets.

Clairton Elementary School was placed on lockdown out of precaution as police searched the area. Officials say the building was not under threat.

At this time, police have not mentioned any information about suspects or arrests.
