GREENE COUNTY, Pa. — A Greene County high school was briefly placed on lockdown Monday morning.
Officials said Jefferson Morgan High School was placed on lockdown just after 9 a.m. Monday. The lockdown was lifted a short time later.
School officials have not said what prompted the lockdown, but said there was not a threat.
Jefferson Morgan Superintendent Donna Furnier sent out the following message to parents on Monday, “This notice is to inform you that a thorough investigation, which resulted in no findings of any danger, was conducted as a precautionary measure this morning at the Jefferson-Morgan Middle-Senior School due to a report that was made.
Procedures were followed according to our school safety plan which included a lock-down and notification to the Pennsylvania State Police. As always, your child’s safety is our primary concern.”
