Local man indicted in Craigslist ticket scam

PITTSBURGH — A federal grand jury indicted a Pittsburgh man Tuesday on charges of wire fraud.

Authorities said Jesse Gasior, 25, found prospective ticket buyers through an online want ad site and then called or emailed them with the bogus ticket offers.

According to United States Attorney David J. Hickton, Gasior defrauded people by offering to sell tickets to concerts and sporting events on Craigslist when he had no such tickets to sell.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

Officials said it wasn’t clear how many people were victimized by Gasior’s alleged scheme.
