Local police department warns residents of misinformation promoting fraudulent Halloween event The Borough of Crafton Police Department is warning residents about an apparent scam involving a fraudulent Halloween event listed online.

CRAFTON, Pa. — The Borough of Crafton Police Department is warning residents about an apparent scam involving a fraudulent Halloween event listed online.

The unauthorized listing, titled “Halloween Candy Craze,” was posted on Eventbrite and advertises an event at Crafton Park on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Police say the event was never brought before or sanctioned by the Borough of Crafton. The posting falsely uses the name and website of Net Breakers, a legitimate organization.

Police advised the public not to interact with the Eventbrite post or enter any personal data.

“Do not click on any links or click on (Reserve a Spot) and provide your personal information,” the Borough of Crafton Police Department said.

Officers noted that they reached out to Net Breakers and received conflicting information regarding the listing.

In contrast to the unauthorized post, the borough is supporting the legitimate community event called “Pumpkin Alley” on Alton Street inside Crafton Park.

The Borough of Crafton Police Department confirmed officers will participate in the neighborhood gathering.

“Police will be there with our command post tent handing out candy,” the department said.

The official gathering will feature a lighted display of jack-o’-lanterns created by residents as part of a pumpkin carving contest and winners will be announced before the end of the week.
