AVELLA, Pa. — A southwestern Pennsylvania man has been jailed in the shotgun slaying of his older brother, who was visiting from West Virginia.
The Washington County coroner said 47-year-old Richard Bauduin died of a blast to the head at the home of his father, 75-year-old Richard Bauduin Sr., and brother, 46-year-old Robert Bauduin.
The men's father told police he was cooking a meal in the kitchen of his Bethel Ridge Road home about 7 p.m. Saturday when he heard his sons arguing before the gunshot.
Police told Channel 11’s Cara Sapida that Robert Bauduin confessed to 911 operators that he “screwed up” and shot his brother.
According to detectives, Robert Bauduin told them he had been arguing throughout the day with his brother and father before the shooting.
Investigators said Richard Bauduin was visiting from Colliers, W.Va.
Family members said the brothers often argued and that Richard often mediated disputes between his father and the brother accused of shooting him.
Robert Bauduin faces a preliminary hearing Wednesday on a charge of criminal homicide.
