Man fights off would-be robber inside Allentown apartment

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Police said a man fought off a would-be robber Friday afternoon inside an Allentown high-rise apartment.

According to police, a man broke into an apartment inside the Caligiuri High-Rise and pulled a gun on the victim. The victim wrestled the robber and knocked him to his knees. The robber then left the apartment, police said.

“I was in chilling, making something to eat and he knocked on the door, came in and grabbed me,” the victim said. “He had the gun pointed at me and said, ‘Where’s the money?’ We started wrestling and I threw him up against the wall.”

Authorities have not released any information about the suspect, but said he left empty-handed.

“What he wanted is on me. It was right here,” the victim said.
