SLIPPERY ROCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Jarrod Hull was convinced he was going to die when his car was stuck on railroad tracks moments before a train approached.
Incredibly, the 20-year-old lived to tell the story.
"I looked right and then looked left. By the time I looked left, it was too late. I tried to throw it into reverse, but I threw it into park. By the time I have it gas, I realized I was in park and he had hit me," Hull told Channel 11's Lisa Sylvester.

The accident happened Monday afternoon on Smith Valley Road in Slippery Rock Township.
The aftermath of the collision showed Hull’s car badly mangled.
“I just went into automatic shock, ‘Holy cow, is this going to be the end?’” Hull said.
Hull told Sylvester he was left with a couple big bumps on his head and a mild concussion.
“The more I talk about it, the more I realize how extremely lucky I am to be here today,” Hull said.
Because of the trees and the grade of the road, Hull said you can’t see the train until you’re at the crossing.
“At the intersection, there are no lights, no crossing arms. All there is is a sign off to the right that says railroad crossing,” Hull said.
Hull and his family want to see changes to make the intersection safer.
Hull was originally taken to Grove City Medical Center and treated for injuries. He was eventually released.
