• Man presumed to have drowned in Pymatuning Lake while trying to save woman

    Updated:

ANDOVER, OHIO - Rescue teams continue to search for a man who went missing Saturday while on a camping trip at Pymatuning State Park.

Investigators said Lawrence Page, 48, of Homewood, is presumed to have drowned after jumping from a pontoon boat on Pymatuning Lake Saturday evening.

Page’s girlfriend, Debbie Jackson, said he never resurfaced from the water after trying to help a woman who had fallen off the edge of the boat.

Jackson said the group of people on the boat tried to reach him by throwing a life vest into the water, but he was pulled underwater by a current. They did manage to rescue the woman Page was trying to reach by pulling her onto the boat with a net, Jackson said.

Crews said they will continue their search efforts until Page’s body is recovered.

Page was a father of five and a grandfather of three.
