FRANKLIN, Pa. (AP) — An Oil City man has been sentenced to house arrest and work release for using his neighbor's Wi-Fi connection to download child pornography onto his home computer.
The charges against 28-year-old Jordan Astrove resulted from a raid by Oil City police and state agents on his neighbor's home last June.
The officers went there because illegal pornography had been traced to an Internet address at that home -- though police were unable to find any pornography on the neighbor's home computers.
Investigators later determined Astrove had accessed the Wi-Fi signal without his neighbor's permission.
Astrove was sentenced to two years in jail by a Venango County judge on Tuesday. He's getting credit for 286 days already served and will finish the term on house arrest and work release.
