Kevin Croney, owner of True Image Tattoo on Freeport Street, was shot Friday.

Authorities said Croney, 43, of Allegheny Township, and Christopher Patterson, 44, of Vandergrift, got into an altercation behind the parlor.

The men got physical and separated at one point before Patterson allegedly shot Croney in the head, police said.

Croney was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital, where he died shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Patterson was charged Friday with aggravated assault and attempted homicide. It is unclear if he will face additional charges as a result of Croney's death.
