Lt. Andrew Schurman said police responded to the Maple Street home about 4:15 a.m. after receiving 911 calls for a home invasion. The victim, identified by the medical examiner's office as Isaac Cameron, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Channel 11's Jennifer Borrasso reported that police said it's likely that more than one person was involved in the invasion.
"We're still trying to figure out how the perpetrators entered the home and what their motive was once they did get in," said Schurman.
A woman was able to escape from the home, according to Schurman. She was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor wounds.
Lois Ferchak told Borrasso she is uneasy after learning her neighbor was shot to death.
"I have been a nervous wreck all day," she said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit at 412-473-1300 or West Mifflin police.
