KITTANNING, Pa. — Two days after a sinkhole at a busy Kittanning intersection caused commotion, road crews returned to the scene, pouring material and patching it up.
Backhoes and robotic cameras were brought in Tuesday to dig deeper at the intersection of Water and Market streets to find out how bad the sinkhole really is.

“They took a quick look at it and found out there was a void at least 8 feet by 4 feet by 3 feet,” said Kittanning Borough Council member David Croyle.
Officials say the project can cost up to $30,000 to fix. The project will come at no cost to taxpayers. The borough will pay partially with a county aid grant and leftover funding from the revitalization grant.
With the community’s light up night days away, the patch came right in time.
"We didn't want to shut down the community for light up night we didn't want juggle to safety and the community for light up night," Croyle said.
